Welcome to the winter doldrums.
It was 4 degrees last night in New York City. I think a glacier is forming on my rooftop. That said, there was one day last week when I heard the sound of birds chirping. Not crows, mind you, but those cute little brown birds. I think they were singing that spring is just around the corner. I could feel it that morning, in the air, the sky, the change of the color of the sunshine.
So I think spring is close. I give it four more weeks until we start to feel the weather shift towards summer.
Appropriately, the current theme is a poem about the seasons by John Keats. I love how he describes winter as “pale misfeature” and spring as “youthful thought”.
